There is something inherently mystical in the allure of the Southern racetrack. It pulls magnetically upon your physical being, the very essence of humanity found in the sounds and the smell and the lights. If you give it your Days, if you surrender to the Thunder of the engines, you may find a secret lost piece Of yourself in the roar and the glare.

Darlington Raceway is the debut recording from the elusive M.Y. Lumina. Recorded, appropriately enough, on a 90s Sony cassette tape, the same type my brother loved. It's a particularly dreamy collection of brief and minimal Dungeon Synth pieces, warped and warmed by the aged cassette until they start to resemble vaporwave in places.

Simultaneously droning and delicate, they speak to the smell of motor oil and the heat of a late summer sunset, only remembered now like a haze from a childhood memory, or an old movie on well-loved VHS.
